Terms and conditions

  1. Customers must supply a valid email address as all communication is by email. If customers provide an incorrect address English-fix is not responsible for any breach of privacy.
  2. English-fix is not a translation service - all files must be submitted in English.
  3. Files will be edited in the style of English already used in the text. So if US English is used in the text then all the edits will be in US English not UK English. Where there is ambiguity the editor will use their discretion based on research of what is applicable in different countries.
  4. We fix what you have paid for - so if you pay for 4 pages we fix 4 pages! One page = 400 words.
  5. If you upload more than one file, we will edit the last file you upload (if uploaded immediately). Once editing starts only one file will be worked on.
  6. Work will start only after payment has been confirmed e.g. if you pay for a 24-hour edit - the 24 hour period will commence when payment has been confirmed.
  7. English-fix will send you an email confirming receipt of your file.
  8. PayPal will send you an email confirming receipt of your payment.
  9. Each editing job has a reference number - this number appears when you make your payment and is also in the confirmation emails. Please make a note of this reference number and use it when communicating with us.
  10. It is the customer's responsibility to get the file to us - payments cannot be refunded in these circumstances.
  11. English-fix will send the fixed document back to your email address. If the email address you supplied is not valid - the file will be returned to the email address you gave when paying.
  12. English-fix reserves the right to seek further payment where more work is deemed necessary eg a Heavy edit is required but the customer has paid for a Light edit. In these circumstances:
    a) We send you an email - giving you the opportunity to pay for the extra service we think is required.
    b) If we do not receive payment for this extra service within 24 hours (or within 3 days if on 1-3 day option) we would ONLY fix what you have paid for - but in our eyes the document would not be 'fixed' (ie perfect).
  13. We adjust our exchange rates on a daily basis.
  14. If you have not received the file in the time requested it is the customer's responsibility to contact English-fix to see if there is a problem (eg English-fix may not be able to send you the file because of an invalid email address).
  15. If you are not happy with any aspect of English-fix's service please contact us quoting your reference number.
