  1. Divide your content into key sections:

    1. heading (ie your name and contact information)
    2. a profile
    3. work experience
    4. qualifications
    5. skills
    6. personal details
    7. references
  2. You may want to include extra sections eg languages.
  3. The above list of sections is in order of importance. This will vary from person to person. For example, recent graduates may want to stress their education over any (part-time) work experience.
  4. Research what is required in your sector eg IT workers would need a technical skills section.
