Frequently asked questions
- How do I count the words in my file?
In Microsoft Word: a) select the text (Control + A); b) click on Tools; c) click on Word Count
- I still don't know the number of words or what type of edit I need?
Email your file to editors@english-fix.com - asking us to "check for size and/or edit type". We will check it and tell you the correct option(s) to select on our website, eg 2 pages and/or Standard edit. You must then follow the rest of the process on our website ie: select your file and pay as normal.
- My document is longer than 10 pages. What should I do?
Please email it to editors@english-fix.com for a FREE assessment of what it will cost to edit.
- How do I send my file?
Attach your file via our website: 1) enter your email and select your editing needs; 2) select your file by clicking the Browse button, then click the Click to send your file button. It may take time to upload your file, so please be patient. You will be sent an email confirming receipt of your file.
- There's a message saying "email error". What should I do?
To use English-fix you must have a valid email address. If you see the "email error" message:
- Please try again - ensuring you enter a CORRECT email address.
- If you are sure you have entered the correct email address but keep getting the error message then please check the following issues: 1) your inbox may be full and need emptying; 2) your email service may be temporarily unavailable; or 3) your email service may have expired.
- You will also see this message if the file you uploaded is more than 7MB: please use file compression to make a smaller 'zipped' file - then upload it in the normal way. English-fix cannot accept files that are more than 7MB.
- Why can't I upload my file?
If you see a message saying "your file could not be uploaded" it's because your file is 7MB or larger. To upload a file that is 7MB or larger please use file compression to make a smaller 'zipped' file - then upload it in the normal way. If you cannot do this then email the file separately as described in FAQ 7.
- I cannot upload my file. How do I continue with my order?
If you see a message saying "your file could not be uploaded": 1) tick the box; 2) pay as normal; 3) email the file as an attachment (7MB maximum) to editors@english-fix.com quoting the reference number you were given when you made your payment. You will be sent an email confirming receipt of your file.
